Blue-Green Möhnesee Bike Tour

The tour starts at the Haus des Gastes in the Körbecke neighborhood (free parking available). As you ride along “Hauptstraße,” you’ll come to junction 66. From there, cycle north and turn left onto “Am Daiwesweg” toward junction 75. The route winds through fields and meadows and offers great views of Möhne and Haar.

Tip: From here, it’s not far to the Drüggelte Chapel or the Bismarckturm, which are among the region’s most interesting sights.

Heading down toward the lakeshore, you’ll come to Haus Delecke; from here, follow the signs toward junction 71. The MS Möhnesee pier in Delecke invites you to take a one-hour round-trip cruise on the reservoir (April–October). After crossing the Delecke Bridge, keep to the right, following junction 73, and cycle along the Heve Peninsula Nature Promenade. Soon you’ll be drawn to junction 72, from which you’ll continue the tour along the southern shore of the lake. A detour to the 40-meter-high Möhnesee Tower is possible, but it’s best to make the trip on foot.

At Stockum Damm, following the lake’s southern shore, you’ll discover “Little Venice.” As along the rest of the route, small picnic areas near the Kanzelbrücke (junction: 68) invite you to take a break. The Völlinghausen Wildlife Park is about one kilometer away and also makes for a lovely spot to take a short break.

Following junction 69, you’ll pass by the beach of the “Westfalen Sea.” The Uferlos beach in Wamel offers a sandy beach, lounge chairs, and a cocktail bar for an admission fee. It’s time to head back toward junction 70. Once there, you’ll be treated to a fantastic view across the lake park and the lake steps all the way down to the water. With spacious meadows, an Abenteuerspielplatz, various play areas, mini-golf, and dining options, the Seepark is just the right spot to wind down the day. It’s only a few minutes from here back to the starting point (66) of the tour.
