The "Alter Schlachthof" cultural center is one of the largest cultural providers in the region. Every year, around 200 live events take place on the grounds of the "Alter Schlachthof".
NATIONALLY KNOWN ARTISTS perform in the area of cabaret and comedy, as well as NEW DISCOVERIES that are still waiting to become known.
The area of music events is as diverse as the scene itself: from CLASSICS TO PUNK, FROM FOLK TO ROCK AND BLUES: the "PUB-MUSIC-NIGHT" has a special place. In this setting, various artists perform in the Kulturhaus restaurant. In the summer, this series is supplemented by the "KULTURSOMMER", which takes place in the beer garden in good weather, and
the KINO of the Kulturhaus runs an ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME that has won many awards for its outstanding program compilation.
But the other cultural sectors are not neglected either: readings, theater performances, exhibitions, dance events and parties take place here, as well as
the legendary "GRÄFTE-TRÖDEL", where the largest flea market in the region along the Soest city wall invites you to look and bargain.
