Möhnesee tower

The 42-meter-high tower was built using a clean, modern wood-and-steel structure and rises seven stories to the large observation deck. From there, a sweeping panoramic view unfolds, impressively combining the shifting colors of the water, the rolling hills, and the distinctive landscape of the nature park.

The platform is located at a height of approximately 38 meters and provides ideal conditions for taking in the fascinating expanse of the landscape—on a clear day, the view extends far beyond the Möhnesee region. The tower’s harmonious integration into its surroundings makes it a striking landmark on the southern shore near Körbecke. Its location between the water and the forest lends the tower a special atmosphere.

The ascent via the easily navigable stairs creates a steadily increasing sense of space, culminating at the top in a tranquil, light-filled view. The Möhnesee Tower combines the experience of nature with architectural clarity and is one of the region’s most charming destinations.


Accessibility Information

• The path from the gatehouse is gravel and has some inclines.
  
• The path from the “Möhnesee Tower” parking lot is also gravel and runs uphill the entire way.
  
• The tower is accessible via a metal mesh staircase. You can look down through the mesh. There are about 200 steps up to a height of 40 meters.
  
• There are places to sit at the base of the tower and a few scattered between the “Möhnesee-Turm” parking lot and the tower itself.
  
• The nearest restrooms are located at the Torhaus restaurant and at the Möhne Grill snack bar. They are accessible during their respective hours of operation.
